Thursday’s 1-0 win in Nicosia against Cyprus pushed Wales to the brink of a first major finals since 1958 and in front of a capacity crowd this afternoon they have the chance to deliver what teams have come close to in the past but never achieved.

So many near misses will pale into insignificance should Wales complete the job and the players are focused on what they need to do.

A win will also lift Wales into fourth in the next FIFA rankings as a minimum, one big achievement for a team that was ranked 117th just four short years ago.

Qualification with two games to go will highlight just how dramatic that climb up the rankings has been so it is little wonder that Ash believes that it is one of their biggest games this afternoon

รขโ‚ฌล“Weรขโ‚ฌโ„ขre very proud of what we’ve achieved already and gone through as a team and as a nation,รขโ‚ฌย Williams told the press.

รขโ‚ฌล“Weรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve worked hard to be in this position to be somewhere we want to get. Now itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs about staying focused.

รขโ‚ฌล“We have 90 minutes to get the job done. We are professional players and we have to stay calm.

รขโ‚ฌล“We want to get to the stadium and play the game now. Theres so much talking going on. We know what we need to do to get the job done.

รขโ‚ฌล“This is potentially one of the biggest games that weรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll ever play. Weรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll be ready.

รขโ‚ฌล“I hope the fans are excited, theyรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve been unbelievable right from the start. Talking to the players, its something we wont forget, the atmosphere has been incredible.รขโ‚ฌย

รขโ‚ฌล“It will be a big match for me,รขโ‚ฌย Williams added “Weรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve worked hard in a short space of time to be ready for this game.

รขโ‚ฌล“We will stick to our plan, we have the firepower up front and the power in the back to beat anyone.รขโ‚ฌย
