There is no let up on a busy deadline day at Swansea City with late news being reported that Morgan Whittaker could be on his way to Lincoln City on loan.

The striker scored a Swansea City hat-trick last Tuesday against Plymouth in the League Cup but could now be moving on with Lincoln showing keenness in taking him on loan after the Swans revealed last week that they could be prepared to let him go.

A Lincoln source has toldย Football Insiderย the League One club are determined to bring in Whittaker before tonightโ€™s deadline with talks underway.

The striker who joined the Swans at the end of the last transfer window has always been seen by the club as ‘one for the future’ and it seems clear that Russell Martin sees regular first team football as essential to his development and with Lincoln being shot shy in front of goal it is a move that can make sense for both parties.

With a little over an hour left of the window at the time of writing it is a race to see if this one can be completed in time but it is looking likely.

  1. Must agree. Good job this loan didn’t happen. Obafemi has yet to prove himself. If he fails or he or Piroe are injured, who comes in? This season Whittaker has looked more promising than Cullen.
