It was always a random link but Wales Online are reporting this afternoon that the enquiries we made over Nakhi Wells will come to nothing and that the player is expected to still be at Bristol City come the end of the transfer window.

Saturday’s reports suggested that both the Swans and Cardiff City had tentatively enquired about taking Wells on loan for the rest of the season with the player getting minimal game time at Ashton Gate.

And whilst manager Nigel Pearson refused to totally rule out a move for the player, he was clear in his view on Saturday that he did not see why he should help either of his Championship rivals by loaning out a player.

“Why would we help them?” Pearson said after his side’s draw at Preston this weekend. “I’ve got no intention of helping anybody, players who are contracted to us will remain contracted to us until we decide that is no longer the case, so you can speculate all you want.”

Now Wales Online report that they have been told by a ‘recruitment source’ that a Wells move to SA1 ‘won’t happen’ so it looks like another dead end for the Swans although not sure too many fans will be disappointed by that.
