{"id":13004,"date":"2005-08-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-08-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.staging28.planetswans.co.uk\/?p=13004"},"modified":"2020-09-22T11:26:01","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T11:26:01","slug":"one-vision-game-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackarmy.net\/wp67\/2005\/08\/24\/one-vision-game-two\/","title":{"rendered":"One Vision &#8211; Game Two"},"content":{"rendered":"<table>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>One Vision &#8211; 10th August 2005<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<table>\n<tr>\n<td><a name=\"TopOfPage\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ronnie Moore&#8217;s new-look Oldham maintained their perfect start to the new season with a victory at Swindon. <\/p>\n<p>The Latics took a 2-0 half time lead through defender Rob Scott and Andy Liddell before Liddell added his second on 51 minutes. <\/p>\n<p>Swindon made Oldham work for the points though with Christian Roberts (79) and Tony Thorpe (85) replying for the Robins. <\/p>\n<p>Walsall also made it two out of two following a dramatic 3-2 victory over Gary Megson&#8217;s Nottingham Forest. <\/p>\n<p>Kris Commons had put Forest in front on 36 minutes but two goals in two minutes from Walsall&#8217;s Mark Wright (pictured) and Chris Westwood, on his debut, put the Saddlers in command. <\/p>\n<p>Forest were reduced to 10 men following goalkeeper Rune Pedersen&#8217;s dismissal in the 61st minute and Matt Fryatt made no mistake from the resulting penalty. <\/p>\n<p>David Friio&#8217;s effort on 85 proved no more than a consolation for the East Midlands side. <\/p>\n<p>Scunthorpe came from behind to beat Barnsley and record their first victory in League One, despite Paul Hayes&#8217;s goalscoring return to Glanford Park. <\/p>\n<p>Hayes had put the Tykes ahead early on, before Andy Crosby levelled from the penalty spot on 28 minutes with substitute Cleveland Taylor securing the victory on 71. <\/p>\n<p>Southend bounced back from defeat against Port Vale on the opening day with a 2-0 victory over Bradford at Valley Parade. <\/p>\n<p>David Wetherall put through his own net on the quarter-hour mark before City were reduced to ten men on the stroke of half time following Darren Holloway&#8217;s sending-off. <\/p>\n<p>Luke Guttridge wrapped up the victory for The Shrimpers on 62. <\/p>\n<p>MK Dons grabbed a point at Doncaster&#8217;s Belle Vue with Izale McLeod (74) equalising Paul Heffernan&#8217;s effort on 66. <\/p>\n<p>Lee Bullock scored his first goal for his new club but Hartlepool were unable to hold on to claim their first three point haul of the new season against Bournemouth. <\/p>\n<p>Bullock had put Martin Scott&#8217;s side ahead shortly after half time only for Dani Rodrigues&#8217;s penalty to level the scores on 67. <\/p>\n<p>Bristol City fell at the death to Huddersfield after defending stoutly for the majority of the second half following Luke Wilkshire&#8217;s dismissal. <\/p>\n<p>Pawel Abbott grabbed the headlines with his 89th minute winner for The Terriers to break the hearts of Brian Tinnion&#8217;s men. <\/p>\n<p>Tranmere drew 2-2 with Blackpool at Prenton Park but will be disappointed not to have taken all three points after twice taking the lead. <\/p>\n<p>Iain Hume had put Rovers ahead on 18, Scott Vernon then equalised for Pool on 45 only for Chris Greenacre to repeat the trick almost immediately sending Brian Little&#8217;s side in ahead at half time. <\/p>\n<p>However Colin Hendry&#8217;s side took a point with John Murphy&#8217;s 69th minute equaliser. <\/p>\n<p>Port Vale and Gillingham played out a goalless draw at Vale Park as did Yeovil and Rotherham at Huish Park. <\/p>\n<p> Scunthorpe 2-1 Barnsley Bournemouth 1-1 Hartlepool Bradford 0-2 Southend Colchester 1-2 Swansea Doncaster 1-1 MK Dons Huddersfield 1-0 Bristol City Port Vale 0-0 Gillingham Swindon 2-3 Oldham Tranmere 2-2 Blackpool Walsall 3-2 Nottm Forest Yeovil 0-0 Rotherham <\/p>\n<p>PREVIOUS ROUND UPS<\/p>\n<table id=\"AutoNumber3\">\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"http:\/\/swanseacity.rivals.net\/default.asp?sid=971&#038;p=2&#038;stid=8389878\"> 7th August 2005<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One Vision &#8211; 10th August 2005 Ronnie Moore&#8217;s new-look Oldham maintained their perfect start to the new season with a victory at Swindon.
