Defender Garry Monk was signed by Kenny Jackett from Southampton in 2004, he had an interesting first season in South Wales where he was sent off 3 times and served a 7 match ban after being sent off against Shrewsbury. <\/p>\n

He was solid in his first season as the Swans gained promotion but did look a little dodgy at times last season; he does read the game well but often his distribution lets him down.<\/p>\n

He was also our top scorer in defence with two goals! The new Swans captain will be pushing for a starting place as the competition for centre-back is looking good for next season.<\/p>\n
