Bayo was officially confirmed as a departee yesterday after being unable to reach an agreement with the club over the terms of a new deal, having missed much of last season with a broken leg. Bayo left along with Izzy whilst Garry Monk ha agreed a new deal with Kris O’Leary still mulling over the offers from Swansea and Cheltenham.<\/p>\n

But Bayo is unhappy with the manner of his departure and uses the Western Mail as an outlet for his frustration “I’m shocked, devastated to be honest, I so much wanted to stay at Swansea,” said Akinfenwa, who scored 21 goals in 50 starts at the Liberty.<\/p>\n

“I didn’t even feel like I had a choice in the end. I felt like I was being forced out even though I didn’t want to go.<\/p>\n

“I tried to go half-way to meet them, but they wouldn’t even come to meet me,<\/p>\n

“It was like, there’s the deal, take it or leave it. I felt so under-valued, like I wasn’t worth anything to them.<\/p>\n

“It wasn’t even about figures, it all seemed to show a lack of respect.<\/p>\n

“I’d given two years at Swansea, worked as hard as I could and in the end none of that felt as if it had been appreciated at all.<\/p>\n

“It’s not like me, but I’m so angry about the way I’ve been treated.<\/p>\n

“The Swansea supporters have always been brilliant to me. They’ve supported me through the good times and the bad.<\/p>\n

“I will take them away in my heart with me and will never forget them.<\/p>\n

“I’m upset the last time they saw me I was being stretchered off, I hoped to come back and reward them for staying with me, but I can’t do that now.<\/p>\n

“It looks pretty certain I will be going to a League One club.<\/p>\n

“The idea of going into the away dressing room at the Liberty would be strange and not something I would look forward to.<\/p>\n

“But I don’t want to have any animosity. For the sake of the fans I hope Swansea finish second next season behind whichever club I join.”<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n
