Garry Monk has explained the reasons behind the Swans extra huddles during and after matches to go with their pre-match ritual of a huddle which has been evident for several years.<\/p>\n
In recent weeks the Swans have had a post match huddle shortly after the final whistle – following an example that Leeds United seemed to start.<\/p>\n
Captain Monk explained in tonight’s Evening Post the reasons for the addition “It started a few weeks ago<\/p>\n
“There was a lot of press about fans booing and things like that and we felt it was best to show them that no matter what happens, we will stick together.<\/p>\n
“We all want to do well and it’s just about saying ‘Well done, let’s keep it going’ if we’ve won or ‘Let’s stay together and not get too down’ if we haven’t done so well.<\/p>\n
“The huddles are a sign to everyone and I think the crowd appreciate them.<\/p>\n
“I think they like to see a group of players who are committed and together.<\/p>\n
“Hopefully they’ll take it on board and we can all stick together because it’s a long season ahead.<\/p>\n
“There’s always been a good team spirit at Swansea, but this is the best I’ve known,” the centre-back says.<\/p>\n
“There have been quite a few new additions, including quite a few from different countries, and we have to make sure they are all right.<\/p>\n
“We’re starting to see the foreign lads’ characters come out.<\/p>\n
“They started off a little bit quiet, but they are feeling more comfortable now and coming out of their shells.<\/p>\n
“They’re mixing really well with the other lads and that’s great to see.<\/p>\n
“We’re really tight, which is how you have to be if you want to progress.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
