Swans manager Roberto Martinez was still fuming long after the final whistle against Huddersfield about the goal that never was.<\/p>\n
Skipper Garry Monk had a seemingly good goal disallowed in stoppage time by referee Keith Hill to the annoyance of Monk who, in particular, had been having a running argument with the official through the game over several decisions.<\/p>\n
Monk’s goal would have salvaged a point for the Swans at the end of a disappointing evening at the Liberty Stadium that saw them beaten at home for the second time this season.<\/p>\n
Speaking after the game, Roberto said ”I’ve watched it time and time again and it was a good goal.<\/p>\n
”I don’t want to come in here and say it’s going to level up over the course of the season because it doesn’t seem as if that’s going to happen.<\/p>\n
”We have had quite a few decisions go against us already but nothing’s gone our way and on this occasion it’s cost us a point.<\/p>\n
”It was shoulder to shoulder, the sort of contact you always get in the penalty box, and it’s very disappointing because it’s a huge decision.<\/p>\n
”When we go away from home 50-50 decisions are going against us, and that’s understandable because the same thing happens all over Europe every weekend.<\/p>\n
”But when referees come to the Liberty Stadium, maybe because we are a big club in this league with a big crowd, they seem to be trying to show that they will not be intimidated.<\/p>\n
