"The symptoms got better and we have tried to treat it conservatively over the summer. But when he stepped up his pre-season programme he started to feel it again.<\/p>\n
"Surgery is always the last resort, but if everything goes ok he should be back for the first game of the season.<\/p>\n
"Jason picked up a stomach strain around Christmas time,'' added Evans. <\/p>\n
"We left him out for two weeks and when he came back it wasn't causing him a problem.<\/p>\n
"But he felt the symptoms again over the summer and we felt it was best to have the operation.<\/p>\n
