{"id":15181,"date":"2008-08-01T20:41:00","date_gmt":"2008-08-01T20:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.staging28.planetswans.co.uk\/?p=15181"},"modified":"2020-09-22T11:26:01","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T11:26:01","slug":"coventry-cashless-system-a-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackarmy.net\/wp67\/2008\/08\/01\/coventry-cashless-system-a-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Coventry Cashless System A Success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We reported back in March that a trial would take place at the Ricoh Arena for a cashless stadium at the end of last season.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme proved to be a success and will now be implemented in all home fan areas for next season with just away fans able to buy things with cash inside the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The Coventry Observer reported last night that &quot;the cards which will be used for supporters to buy food and drinks will also work as season ticket holder&#39;s tickets for the duration of the new campaign.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Fans who have renewed their season tickets will receive their cards in the post ahead of the opening game on August&nbsp;9 together with a complimentary &pound;7 to spend at the first three home games.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Staff dressed in lime green will hand out the plastic cards to non season ticket holders to use on a match by match basis.&nbsp; A minimum of &pound;5 needs to be uploaded to the cards which can be done with the staff in the consourse.&nbsp; Any money not spent during the match can be withdrawn at designated kiosks or saved for future matches.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that several clubs are watching closely the success of the scheme with a view to potentially implementing it at their own grounds in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Back in March, Coventry Chairman Ray Ranson said &quot;When fans have gone through the turnstiles they should look out for the &#39;cashless payment&#39; staff who will be dressed in lime green to top up their card with cash (minimum of &pound;5).<\/p>\n<p>&quot;You then go to the kiosks to buy your refreshments and food and your card will be scanned to take the payment.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;If you want to refund the outstanding credit on your card, for one hour after half-time go to the staff at one of the cashless payment terminals in the concourses or you can keep the card to use at the next match.&quot;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We reported back in March that a trial would take place at the Ricoh Arena for a cashless stadium at the end of last season.
