Bodde was the subject of intense transfer speculation in the summer with Derby County making him their number one target and tabling several bids – all of which fell short of the Swans valuation of the midfielder.<\/p>\n
And two Championship goals later, Bodde is enjoying life in the Championship spotlight and has helped the Swans into an early season 7th place – 17 places ahead of the side that wanted to sign him.<\/p>\n
And Martinez believes that Bodde is enjoying his football and has no regrets over signing a new long term deal at the club rather than pursuing Derby's interest<\/p>\n
Speaking to BBC Sport, the Swans boss said "I think that was a sign that he is enjoying his football and that's the way it should be<\/p>\n
"He is a top-class player and he is capable of doing what he did today on a regular basis," said Martinez. <\/p>\n
"We spoke about his decision enough and you can see he is happy, settled and focused and we all know he'll have a massive impact in the Championship."<\/p>\n
