Scotland will take part in fixtures against Guatemala and the United States over the next week as the Soca Warriors bid to work towards a second successive World Cup appearance.<\/p>\n
Scotland is joined by international colleague Dennis Lawrence in the squad for both games and they will travel back after the game in Chicago next Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n
With the Swans having an important league fixture three days later, the fitness in particular of Scotland will be of concern to the Swans boss who told the Evening Post <\/p>\n
"I would have preferred to have Jason here settling down a bit and getting a full week's training under his belt ahead of the Crystal Palace game.<\/p>\n
"That would have been ideal, but then you will never get a happy situation with every player.<\/p>\n
"Now Jason has gone, we hope he is involved in the two games because doing all that travelling to sit on the bench would be a waste of time."<\/p>\n
Martinez though is happy with the representation the Swans have in World Cup qualifying this week – Ashley Williams and Owain Tudur Jones are with the full Welsh squad as well as the two Soca Warriors <\/p>\n
"I'm pleased because it's a reward for the good work the players have done with us," Martinez added.<\/p>\n
"But from a selfish point of view it's not ideal that we are not going to see Jason and Dennis until a week tomorrow or possibly a week on Friday.<\/p>\n
"It's a bit easier with the Welsh lads – the under-21s will be back on Wednesday and the seniors on Thursday.<\/p>\n
"We just have to hope that they don't come back injured and that they all play some part in the games.<\/p>\n
