It’s another double header for Wales next week with first up a game in Cardiff against Liechtenstein before an away trip to Germany.<\/p>\n
And after last month’s disappointment in Moscow where Wales conceded a late winner Wales will know that they need to get two results to effectively keep alive their hopes of being in South Africa in 2010.<\/p>\n
And for Swans defender Williams it is a chance to finally put to bed any memories he still has of the clearance that just didn’t quite have enough on it.<\/p>\n
Talking to this week’s Wales on Sunday, Williams said \u201cIt was 10 minutes from being a great result, even though we had played so well, to lose it like that was a big disappointment.<\/p>\n
\u201cI watched the game again when I got back home and another half an inch and that ball would have been cleared. I thought I was a bit unfortunate because I was on my heels going backwards and had to change direction quickly to get something on it \u2013 when I did it just went straight to the striker.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have to say, if I\u2019d hit that another five times it would have gone anywhere but to him every time.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was one of those things, and although it hasn\u2019t played on my mind, I\u2019ve been looking forward to getting back with Wales for these games to try and put things right as a team by getting some more points on board.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been happy with my form for Swansea and I\u2019ve felt more confident with every game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think I\u2019ve showed what I\u2019m about but I\u2019ve been trying to improve every time and command a little more, building on some of the levels I\u2019ve been reaching.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I\u2019m sure playing for Wales has helped me with that, just as much as I feel playing in the Championship with Swansea has helped me playing for Wales.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ve let anyone down and, even with players coming back, hopefully I\u2019ve done enough to warrant keeping my place.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll I can do now is keep on doing what I\u2019ve been doing while still looking to improve and just train as hard as ever.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut if John Toshack wants to go with someone else that\u2019s fine because I don\u2019t think it would mean I\u2019ve played badly \u2013 just he wants to give someone else a chance. Whatever happens we\u2019re going into these games as a squad, aiming to pick up some good results because that\u2019s all that counts.<\/p>\n
