Scotland’s brace in the weekend win over Wolves took his league tally to three for the season – following on from his 29 last season that earned him the League One golden boot.<\/p>\n
And from there Scotland wants to grow his tally and has his eyes on a second consecutive golden boot as the Swans continue to improve.<\/p>\n
Scotland’s double was his reaction to being left out against Preston – a decision that he explained to the Evening Post was the right decision<\/p>\n
“I didn’t feel I had to prove anything,” said Scotland.<\/p>\n
“The gaffer had a word with me (before Preston) because obviously I’m just coming back from injury, I’ve been playing a lot of games and I went to Trinidad. I haven’t had much of a pre-season and the gaffer thought I needed a rest.<\/p>\n
“And it must have been the right decision because I came back today and did the business.<\/p>\n
“I think the rest did me some good. I was feeling fresh and I think it was probably my best performance of the season.<\/p>\n
“I want to get to the same level every week and be consistent every week. As a striker I want to be challenging to be top goalscorer and you never know, I was up there last season in League One and I would like to be up there again at the end of the season.<\/p>\n
“It’s something I’m obviously looking at.”<\/p>\n
