{"id":15604,"date":"2008-11-02T15:48:00","date_gmt":"2008-11-02T15:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.staging28.planetswans.co.uk\/?p=15604"},"modified":"2020-11-02T07:22:53","modified_gmt":"2020-11-02T07:22:53","slug":"ferries-blast-at-championship-rivals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackarmy.net\/wp67\/2008\/11\/02\/ferries-blast-at-championship-rivals\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrie&#8217;s Blast At Championship Rivals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bodde singled out QPR for individual criticism but is clearly not impressed with anything that he has seen in the Championship to date.<\/p>\n<p>Bodde&#8217;s words echo those of fellow midfielder Darren Pratley who said very similar earlier in the week as the Swans hold a top ten position on their return to the second flight for the first time in 24 years.<\/p>\n<p>Bodde believes that too many play the long ball game and thinks that the Swans can gain success playing the Martinez way which is attracting praise from many opposition managers.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the News of the World, Bodde said &#8220;I&#8217;ve seen a lot of teams play the long ball game this season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That seems to be the style in this division.\u00a0 Teams have got strikers who are big and physically strong so they play lots of long balls to them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a different style &#8211; we&#8217;re a passing side we like to keep the ball and passi t.\u00a0 A lot of coaches have complimented us on the way we play football.\u00a0 If you watch us play you will always see us make a lot of passes and trying to attack.\u00a0\u00a0 This is the way the gaffer wants us to play it and it&#8217;s the right way.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are not many teams liks us in the Championship which is disappointing.\u00a0\u00a0 Instead you see lots of teams playing long balls to big strikers.\u00a0 We played Leeds twice in League One and they were both high quality games.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I thought Championship games would be like that most of the time but they&#8217;re not.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Teams come to the Liberty Stadium just to stop us playing.\u00a0 They seem happy to leave with a point.\u00a0\u00a0 QPR have very good players &#8211; but they didn&#8217;t use them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We had Alan Tate in goal for most of they game yet they could only manage one shot all game.\u00a0 We will never play that way.\u00a0 At Swansea we are always positive, home and away.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Most teams come to thr Liberty and are happy to keep nine or ten men behind the ball.\u00a0 Southampton were different they tried ti play football when they came to our stadium.\u00a0\u00a0 That&#8217;s because they have a Dutch manager and a Dutch coach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Because they are in charge that club has a Dutch vision.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The only time we have been in difficulty this season was at Reading when we lost 4-0.\u00a0 We are new to the division but we are not scared of anyone.\u00a0 We beat Wolves at home a few weeks ago and that shows we can compete with one of the best teams in the Championship.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have shown we&#8217;re a good team by the way we&#8217;ve played at the Liberty Stadium this season.\u00a0 I think we deserve to be higher than we are in the table.\u00a0\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think there is a midfield in the Championship that comes close to ours.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bodde singled out QPR for individual criticism but is clearly not impressed with anything that he has seen in the Championship to date.
