The Swansea City midfielder was booked in the first half og Friday’s defeat to Birmingham City – his 5th yellow of the season ruling him out of the league meeting with Cardiff.<\/p>\n
And as the man who scored the winner back in September, Gomez was naturally hurt at missing out on the chance to do it again but he insisted that there was still enough in the Swans side to ensure that they can get the bragging rights in South Wales once again.<\/p>\n
The Swans must overcome the loss of Gomez and Bodde for the game although it does look as if Leon Britton is set to return for the fixture giving the likes of Tom Butler and possibly Owain Tudur Jones the chance to come in and stake their claims for more permanent places.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very, very disappointed,\u201d Gomez told Wales on Sunday<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is a huge game that a lot of us have been looking forward to, especially me after my happy memories of the last game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI still have people saying \u2018thank you\u2019 for scoring that goal and not to be able to play and try and win it for the supporters hurts.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have had a good run in the side since that game and I don\u2019t want to miss any games \u2013 but the fact it\u2019s the derby makes the feeling worse.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it only means that it\u2019s someone else\u2019s chance to play and someone else\u2019s chance to be the hero for us. It\u2019s disappointing that I have picked up five bookings, but we have good players all the way through the squad.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd whoever comes in will do well and want to win as much as I would.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe play with the same style whoever we are playing against and I think it is the football we play more than the players that have helped us succeed so far this season<\/p>\n
