The former Swansea City midfielder was involved in an accident on Wednesday afternoon and is currently in hospital under treatment for his injuries.<\/p>\n
A statement from Yeovil manager Russell Slade on their website said “Darren was pleased to see me\u00a0but obviously not in a good way. His parents and wife were also with him, as they have been since the accident.<\/p>\n
“I would like to point out that contrary\u00a0to reports on the Swansea web site Darren has not broken both his arms and both his legs.<\/p>\n
“Doctors are still assessing his injuries to one leg and one arm and we will report further as he progresses.”<\/p>\n
His former manager at Swansea, Roberto Martinez said upon hearing of the accident \u201cIt was a huge shock for us, and all we\u2019ve done since is hope to hear as much good news as possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of the squad are very concerned for him and have been in touch with his family to try and see how he is doing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you hear something like that it worries you and it puts things in perspective.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe had terrible luck with injuries here but it looked as though he was enjoying his football at Yeovil and then something like this happens.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just hope that everything will be fine with him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is a special character; off the pitch he was so lively and had time for everyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe always had a smile even when things didn\u2019t go well for him \u2013 he has may friends here and we just hope he can get through this.<\/p>\n
