Kevin Phillips has already haunted Swansea City once this season with a quickfire double at the Liberty that gave Birmingham all the points last month.<\/p>\n
And today the Swans are handed a chance of revenge when they try to put seven successive draws behind them and return to winning ways for the first time in over six weeks.<\/p>\n
Winger Tom Butler though knows who the dangerman is for the Blues and has warned the Swans not to take Phillips lightly in the return fixture.<\/p>\n
\u201cPhillips only came on for 20 minutes against us last month but he ended up scoring two in five minutes and changed the game,\u201d said Butler in today’s Wales on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cHalf the battle will be stopping him \u2013 you can\u2019t let someone like him have the slightest half-chance.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe drifts into the box and always seems to have space, and when the ball lands at his feet, he finishes time and time again.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a natural goalscorer, and he keeps proving that every season wherever he goes.<\/p>\n
\u201cI suppose that\u2019s the difference between the top sides and the rest \u2013 they’ve got the money to pay top-class strikers like him.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know our defence are going to have to be even better than they were against Coventry on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n
\u201cBirmingham are a top side, they\u2019ve got Premier League players and we\u2019ll have to come fast out of the traps to have a chance<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it\u2019ll be no different \u2013 we\u2019re just going to go and play the way we have been.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, it\u2019s frustrating at the moment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to start converting our chances and, against Birmingham, we\u2019ll have to be even more clinical because we\u2019ll probably get fewer chances.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we were struggling and just happy with a draw, it\u2019d be different.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut we\u2019re playing teams off the park so it\u2019ll have to turn around eventually.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd if we apply ourselves the way we have been, there\u2019s no reason why we can\u2019t beat any team in the league.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe manager has said to us, \u2018Don\u2019t panic, it\u2019ll come\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut maybe in the first half against Coventry we were a bit eager to try and thread that final ball, and we took an extra pass when we probably didn\u2019t need to.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe knew there wasn\u2019t another game at home for three weeks, so we were really hoping to get a win.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last couple of games I\u2019ve had a lot of the ball out wide, and it\u2019s frustrating for me personally not to pick people out with a killer cross.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut there\u2019s no better feeling than playing the top sides and beating them.<\/p>\n
