Swansea City were poised to land a plum tie at Liverpool in the fourth round when they crashed out of the FA Cup at Havant back in January.<\/p>\n
The then runaway League One leaders were shocked by the non league side who enjoyed their day in the spotlight and led twice at Anfield before eventually being overrun.<\/p>\n
And with this year’s draw throwing them another away trip to non league opposition in Histon, the Swans midfielder believes that this time around they can finally put that defeat to bed and progress to Round Four.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Wales on Sunday, Britton said \u201cIt\u2019s good to have the opportunity to put it to bed<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd at least we don\u2019t need to be told about what we\u2019re going to face. We know it\u2019s going to be tough.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had five games against non-league sides last year and they\u2019re all fresh in the memory, especially the one we lost.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just have to make sure we don\u2019t make the same mistake twice.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you\u2019re a league side, you don\u2019t expect to get beaten by a non-league side, whoever you are.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not a nice feeling when you lose in your own division, let alone in the cup against a side quite a few divisions below you.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then when we lost the opportunity to play Liverpool, that hurt in its own right.<\/p>\n
\u201cI, for one, haven\u2019t had the chance to play in a massive stadium against a side like that.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut shocks happen and we had to bounce back, which we did.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t beat yourself up about it forever.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople still give me stick \u2013 Jason Scotland constantly reminds me \u2013 but it\u2019s gone, it\u2019s in the past.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe whole night was just a horrible experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe weather was terrible, the pitch was bad, the fans were right on top of you. It wasn\u2019t nice at all.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the next day or two we were down, but we had two quick games and won both, so it clearly didn\u2019t affect us.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut we can remember what it felt like and we will use that against Histon.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a little bit disrespectful,\u201d admitted Britton in reply to questions about Histon’s reaction to the draw, \u201cbut in a way I can understand it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve done well to get to the third round and it might have been their only chance to have drawn one of the top sides in the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey would have had their hearts set on a Premiership team or a day out at a big club.<\/p>\n
