They expected us to be down fighting relegation now

“A few big results in this division opened people eyes very quickly. People took notice of us quickly, but I’m not sure they gave us the credit we deserved.

“People do tend to look at the negative side. I’m sure there have been people expecting us to come unstuck sooner or later.

“They are going to have too many injuries soon, they say. Well we have had injuries, we have had bad performances and we have always managed to pick ourselves up.

“We are a good team basically that means if we have a bad patch we will always get through it.

“We feel we’ve done well as it is, we are not putting any pressure on ourselves by saying we want promotion we are just going to see what happens.

“We are not really thinking too much about the future just now. We are taking each game as it comes without getting ahead of ourselves.

“We know it is going to be a very tough last quarter to the season, but the lads are ready and looking forward to it.

“I’m sure come the end of the season we will look back and be proud whichever way it goes.

“One thing is that whatever happens we are learning all the time and we will be better players and a better team for it come next season.

“I’ve not missed a league game. It’s brilliant and shows the manager has some confidence in me,” said Williams.

“When other managers were thinking about signing me, he put the money down. He gave me a start in the first game and gave me the chance to show what I can do. I’ve tried to just go out there and play my game. To enjoy myself. I can’t really ask for much more than that.

“Personally there have been little things I have not been happy with at times this season, but I have had a word with people and tried to work things out. It has been good for me.

“At the time in Ipswich we were disappointed again sat in the dressing room, but looking at it a few months on it wasn’t really a bad result,” added Williams.

“You want to win every game of course, but Portman Road is a tough place to go and they are a good side make no mistake about that.

“They have good attacking players, some really experienced players and they have got one of the best away records.

“With us being good at home it’s going to be a difficult game. I think it’s going to be one of our tougher games.”

The Swansea City defender has been on top form all season as the Swans have defied the pre-season ‘experts’ and maintained a promotion push in an unbeaten run that stretches back more than two months.
