We put the pressure on ourselves because we’re the ones who’ve set our own high standards.

“Since the gaffer has come in, we’ve played this passing game which is very easy on the eye and makes us difficult to beat.

“And we want to carry on playing that way because we feel we’re good enough to do it.

“We’re professional footballers, so there’s no way any of us wanted the run to come to an end,” said 26-year-old Britton.

“There’s certainly no sense of relief – we wanted to carry it on until the end of the season.

“Now the next challenge is to begin another run, starting on Saturday.

“We’re disappointed with the performance against Watford

“All round, we were pretty sloppy.

“Normally we play at a high tempo, get the ball down quick and play it, but we didn’t do that.

“And it’s hard to put a finger on why that happened.

“We just want to put it down to a bad day at the office.

“We need to get back to the standards which set us on this run in the first place – and push ourselves back up the table.

“Fortunately, the next game comes around very quickly, which is good.

“So it’s a chance to pick ourselves up, wipe the slate clean and get started again.

“The last time we played Doncaster, they were on a bit of a bad run.

“But it is fair to say that they’re in a very different position now.

“Both teams know each other well after both coming up from League One last year and it’ll be tough.

“We need to wipe the Watford game from our memory – and if we can start another unbeaten run, that would do us very nicely.

“If we could go the final 14 games unbeaten – though preferably not drawing eight on the bounce again – I’d have thought we’d be in the play-offs by the end of the season.”

The Swans surrendered a three month unbeaten run at Vicarage Road on Tuesday night but have the chance to put that right with back to back home league games against Doncaster and Charlton.
