The Swansea City star says that Wellens spat at him just before half time of yesterday’s 3-1 victory over Doncaster at the Liberty Stadium.<\/p>\n

Britton alleges that Wellens did the deed when team mate James Coppinger was on the floor receiving treatment for an injury.<\/p>\n

Britton said after the game “Richie Wellens was standing next to be while Coppinger was getting treatment and he said I’d stamped on him.<\/p>\n

“I said ‘if I did do that I didn’t mean to’.\u00a0 He then said ‘I’ll spit at you, I’ll spit at you’.\u00a0 When he was by my side he spat at my face.<\/p>\n

“That’s the first time anyone has spat at me and I hope it’s the last time.\u00a0 It’s disgusting.<\/p>\n

“I’d rather he punched me.\u00a0 What he did was the act of\u00a0a coward.<\/p>\n

“I think he was trying to provoke a reaction and get me sent off.\u00a0 You have to rise above it that’s what I did.<\/p>\n
