The Swansea City goalkeeper put in a man of the match display on Tuesday night but it was not enough to keep the Swans in the FA Cup leaving them to concentrate solely on the league and their push for the Premier League.<\/p>\n
They currently sit just outside the play off positions but entertain relegation threatened Charlton on Saturday – the first of seven games in a hectic 21 day schedule.<\/p>\n
And Dorus believes that the Cup run – they took Fulham all the way as well as knocking out the cup holders on their own patch – shows that the Swans are ready for the Premier League should they book their place in the next few months.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the Western Mail, De Vries said \u201cThis team is ready to take the positives from the cup and kick on now<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got 13 games left in the league and show the same pride we\u2019ve done since November.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a talented group of players and we\u2019re still learning and progressing.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut we know that if our mentality is right then something beautiful can happen.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt doesn\u2019t seem like a huge gap between these teams and ourselves,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, it\u2019s completely different over a whole season than just a few games.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I think we\u2019ve got the talent in the team to adapt to certain circumstances.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe showed that against Portsmouth, Fulham at home and again away on a ground where they\u2019ve got the second-best Premier League home record.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe showed that too against West Brom in a pre-season friendly which we drew 0-0.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got a taste of the Premier League now \u2013 a good taste.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs players that is what we dream of, the Premier League is a great attraction and that is the stage where we want to be.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe worked so hard, but perhaps we just dropped back a little bit too much,\u201d reflected de Vries.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey pushed on and physically they\u2019re a strong side, but we\u2019ve got to keep the lock on the door in those situations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were caught out of position by a quick corner-kick and we\u2019ve got to notice that danger.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut in every experience there are learning moments. We had that against Charlton in the first game of season at this new level and it\u2019s been the same again in the cup.<\/p>\n
