The Swansea City midfielder knows that this summer is likely to be a testing time for the Swans with interest growing in their key players who have made such an impressive impact on the Championship this season.<\/p>\n
Swansea's brand of football has won them a whole host of admirers but with admiration comes a danger that teams are going to start sniffing around those who are putting consistent performances on the board.<\/p>\n
But Butler believes the Swans should resist temptation to cash in and let the team develop the way that it should. Speaking to this week's News of the World, Butler said "There are a lot of players here that other clubs would like to have<\/p>\n
"Managers across the country have noticed the way we've been playing this season and how easily they've handled the Championship.<\/p>\n
"Look at Joe – he's only 18 and he's just come into the side but he's shown he's comfortable at this level. We know other clubs are watching players at Swansea. You saw that last year when Derby tried to buy Ferrie Bodde.<\/p>\n
"We've done well this season and we've been dominating teams. When you're successful other clubs are going to come in for your players. There will be interest in some of our players from the Premier League at the end of the season and that will test the club.<\/p>\n
"It is hard to fight off bigger clubs when they come in for your players but it's vital this Swans side isn't broken up. We've got a genuine chance of doing something at this club with the players we've got. It's imperative we stay together – the players, the manager and the coaches.<\/p>\n
"If we do, then we'll be successful. I can only see us going from strength to strength. What we're doing works, which is why we must keep the nucleus of the squad. There's a great blend in the dressing room and I hope it doesn't get broken up. We're pushing for promotion and if we don't make it we'll have an even better chance next year as long as we strengthen.<\/p>\n
"I've been at clubs where key players have been sold and the team struggled. I saw it at Sunderland.<\/p>\n
"it does make a difference when you lose players who are crucial. Reading are doing well and that's because they've kept largely the same squad. I hope its a similar thing with us.<\/p>\n
"If something works then you don't try to change it. I don't think we're a selling club. Swansea showed their ambition by keeping Ferrie. That showed the club wants to get to the Premier League."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
