Levelling massive criticism at referee Iain Williamson's door , the Scot was incensed by the Berkshire officials decision to award Swansea a penalty after French goalkeeper Romain Larrieu upended Jordi Gomez in the box, as he told the BBC, “The players feel the penalty wasn't a penalty. I would have to look at it. The referee took a long time deliberating before awarding the penalty. I can't believe there were nine bookings, six for us. He was inconsistent. “ <\/p>\n
He added "I'm disappointed, I don't think we deserved to lose the game. The boy [Ashley] Barnes had a chance after two or three minutes and it would have put a different complexion on the game.”<\/p>\n
Speaking after the game the 52 year old was disappointed by the performance of a few of his players as he outlined on the clubs official site , he said “I just felt we sat back too deep, made our front men isolated, and didn't give our forwards enough opportunities to get support. A deadly concoction when you are away from home is just to hang on and hang on for a 0-0.”<\/p>\n
"I'm disappointed that we didn't play to the standards we have been. There were a few players who looked a bit below par, who didn't achieve the standards they have been achieving.”<\/p>\n
