Butler struck eight minutes from time after being introduced as a substitute in Saturday’s 2-1 win at the Liberty and now finds himself in line for a place in the starting line up on Tuesday night at Doncaster.<\/p>\n
Red cards for Jordi Lopez and Nathan Dyer mean that they join a growing list of absentees who will be unavailable at the Keepmoat – a list that should see Butler start his first game of the season.<\/p>\n
Talking to BBC Sport, the Irishman said “We are going in the right direction with the last couple of performances<\/p>\n
“The important thing is we haven’t been losing games.<\/p>\n
“It’s only one game bans so it’s not the end of the world and I think we will have enough cover on Tuesday,” said Butler who is hoping to take his chance with all the injuries and suspensions.<\/p>\n
“I’ve been out for six weeks and it’s pretty frustrating because when a new manager comes in, you want to show him what you can do.<\/p>\n
“It’s a slow process with the kind of injury I’ve had, given my history and I think the manager has been really good with me building me in.<\/p>\n
“I played more minutes than I did against Barnsley so to play some more minutes on Tuesday will be great.<\/p>\n
“We drew the last two and won this one so hopefully we can keep a bit of momentum going to Doncaster on Tuesday is another tough game away and hopefully we can get another result.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
