And the Dutchman says he ignored warnings about the ‘curse’ that saw Mark Gower elect to change shirts in the close season having gone a full season without a goal.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the Western Mail, Van Der Gun said \u201cSome of the players told me about the curse with the No 11 shirt,<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I said, \u2018no, I want that shirt.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was absolutely no issue for me because I had worn that number at Utrecht last season and scored 10 goals. But this was my sixth game, and I\u2019d had a few chances before, so I was still happy to get off the mark.<\/p>\n
\u201cI gave the ball to Darren Pratley and took a sprint.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got it back perfectly to my feet, shot and it ended up in the far corner. It was a great feeling, but the most important thing was the three points.<\/p>\n
