As Jones prepares to go head to head with the Swansea City manager at the Liberty today he knows that he is coming up against someone who has got his side playing well after what some would say was a shaky start.<\/p>\n
The Swans are unbeaten in nine ahead of the local derby and Jones believes that he has done an excellent job in following Martinez after the Spaniards departure in the summer.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the Western Mail, the Cardiff boss said \u201cIt\u2019s no use bringing your medals out in front of the players because they are trying to shape their own careers<\/p>\n
\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter what Paulo won in the game \u2013 you have to go and do it as a manager \u2013 so it won\u2019t have any bearing on his players whatsoever. Except he\u2019ll have a good experience of the game and he can bring his experience for his players\u2019 benefit.<\/p>\n
\u201cPaulo found it difficult when he first went in, although you can\u2019t even say they started off badly because the expectations were so high.\u201d said Jones.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut he\u2019s imposed his style on the team and now they are doing really well.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s never easy following someone who has done well at a football club because you have to continue things. You\u2019ve got to maintain the standards and it\u2019s difficult.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut Paulo\u2019s done well. they are on a fantastic run and he\u2019s got the team playing full of confidence.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnyone who can get their side keeping the number of clean sheets they have in this division is doing well. As far as I\u2019m concerned he\u2019s done a very, very good job from the day he\u2019s walked in.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe games we had last year were hard and pretty tight. I don\u2019t see anything different this time,\u201d he said. \u201cSwansea are a very difficult side to play against. They\u2019ve had some good results, but both teams are doing well.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are scoring goals and they are not conceding too many. With the bragging rights up for grabs, all the ingredients are there for a typical derby game.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t expect any of our players to get carried away because they are all professionals and we set certain standards at this club.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe start with a point and we want to make it three points.<\/p>\n
