The Swansea City captain has watched the on loan striker score five goals in his loan spell from Bristol City with Trundle himself having made no secret of his desire to stay.<\/span><\/p>\n

But having now seen the last of the matches of the original loan spell end on Monday, it is now down to the two clubs to make an agreement as to what happens next.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monk though is in no doubt as to what should happen \u201cEveryone knows Trunds is a legend at this club \u2013 but he\u2019s had to start with a clean slate,\u201d said Monk in today’s Western Mail<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s come here on loan and made no bones about the fact he wants to stay \u2013 and I think he\u2019s done everything asked of him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got five goals and you can\u2019t knock that, especially when most of his appearances have come off the subs bench.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think just as important is the work he\u2019s put in since he\u2019s come back. He\u2019s fitting straight into what we\u2019re trying to do as a squad and he\u2019s definitely got that hunger to do well.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s slimmed down a lot and he\u2019s probably the fittest I\u2019ve ever seen him \u2013 you can see he really wants it and, if it does get agreed for him to stay on, then it\u2019s deserved.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe really has got his head down since he\u2019s been here<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe certainly hasn\u2019t moaned because he\u2019s perhaps not started as many games as he would like, he\u2019s just waited for his chances and taken them.<\/span><\/p>\n
