The Swansea City star had his loan spell from Bristol City extended until the end of the season by manager Paulo Sousa and he predicted great things for the club in the New Year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trundle has scored five goals since his return from Bristol City on loan and is Swansea’s joint leading scorer in a season where goals have been at a premium.<\/span><\/p>\n

And with the player becoming a free agent in the summer, Trundle says he is already achieved one of his new year goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the start of a new year and a new decade and I\u2019m where I want to be,\u201d he told the Western Mail<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI for one can\u2019t wait for it \u2013 but I think everyone connected to Swansea City can look forward to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe side are definitely moving in the right direction and we\u2019ve shown we can compete with the best in the Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut, when you think how the club has moved on in the past 10 years, it really makes you think what can be achieved in the next decade.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first signed, the chairman told me of all his plans for the club, on and off the field.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat was less than seven years ago \u2013 and, to be fair to him, it\u2019s all come off. We\u2019ve got a brand new stadium and we\u2019ve gone from the bottom of League Two to the top of the Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut the club is still growing, the ambition is still here and supporters can be excited about the next few years. I am and hopefully I can be a part of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf I think back to my best memories playing for Swansea, scoring the winner against Preston in the fourth round is up there,\u201d said the Scouser on the 2-1 victory for Brian Flynn\u2019s men five years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I scored in every round of the cup that year, apart from the fifth round when we got knocked out.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s good to get the chance to be able to have another crack at the cup with Swansea.<\/span><\/p>\n
