It does seem that Swansea City’s ‘bid’ for the player was very much tongue in cheek but still it appears to warrant column inches in the press with Bothroyd now saying that he would never betray Cardiff fans with a move down west.<\/span><\/p>\n

Huw Jenkins himself said over the weekend that the conversation was just part of a regular chat with Dave Jones where he was talking about players he would like to move on and as soon as Cardiff’s asking price for Bothroyd of \u00a33m was mentioned the conversation went no further.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSwansea\u2019s chairman said he enquired about me, but I\u2019ve got no interest in going there,\u201d said Bothroyd when speaking to the Western Mail .<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy at Cardiff, even though I\u2019m not from Cardiff, I regard myself as a Cardiff boy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI love the fans, I love the place and I don\u2019t see myself taking that sort of step going to a rival.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was a bit disappointed when I saw it in the paper. I think their chairman has got to be a bit more professional. Maybe he was mischief-making.<\/span><\/p>\n
