The Swansea City goalkeeper was the victim of being beaten by a complete Willo Flood fluke to give Middlesbrough an equaliser on Saturday just as the Swans looked as if they would take control of the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fluke – struck from the touchline – meant spoils at the Riverside were shared keeping the Swans in fourth place in the Championship table.<\/span><\/p>\n

But speaking to the Western Mail after the game, the Dutchman said that he could not help but feel guilty about the goal<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOf course I feel guilty,\u201d he declared. \u201cThe guys all said it wasn\u2019t my fault and there was nothing I could do about it, but you always have your own ideas about how you could have stopped it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs a keeper, after doing well for so many games, you always know you will make a mistake at some point. But, if this is the biggest mistake I make this season, it\u2019s fine by me.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t want to concede like that, but it happens sometimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou just have to learn from it and, having never conceded like that before, I will take something from this experience and make sure it doesn\u2019t happen again.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was unbelievable. I watched it back and it\u2019s hard to take because I took up the right position to take the cross.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut then the movement of the ball is completely different and it sneaks just under the crossbar.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s tough because, as a\u00a0goalkeeper, you never want to get beaten by those.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt comes out of nowhere and, when you concede like that, it\u2019s a blow for the team and a bitter pill to take.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
