The Swansea City vice captain was not a happy man after the reaction of some to the 0-0 draw with Ipswich at the Liberty – a result that kept the Swans very much in line for an end of season play off spot.<\/p>\n
Tate naturally shared the frustration after the Swans failed to break down an Ipswich side content with a point but it was the reaction from the stands that frustrated him more.<\/p>\n
"Booing at the end is a bit ridiculous considering if you look at where Darlington are now<\/p>\n
"We were Darlington seven years ago. People need to realise that we've come a long way and not think we automatically deserve to be up here because we don't.<\/p>\n
"It's no good moaning because I haven't seen many teams who have come here and thought we'll give these a good game by passing it and trying to win the game.<\/p>\n
"I don't think anyone's come here, apart from Middlesbrough early in the season, and thought we'll go there and have a go.<\/p>\n
"There was no need to boo at the end. It was not as if we were bad and got beat 3-0.<\/p>\n
"It's disappointing we didn't win the game," he said.<\/p>\n
"But they haven't had a chance to win it while we've had a couple and on the day a point is better than nothing.<\/p>\n
"We knew after our result in midweek there needed to be a reaction and we knew after their result in the week they needed a reaction too.<\/p>\n
"I think they got it as well as us, although I don't really think they came to win the game.<\/p>\n
"Five points is a lot to make up in six games and a couple more wins will hopefully cement us in there.<\/p>\n
"It's better to be five points in the lead than chasing five points.<\/p>\n
"People need to realise that and get behind us."<\/p>\n
