Just two wins in nine games has turned what looked a near certain play off spot for Swansea City into a nervous end of season with many predicting a need to win two of their remaining three games.<\/p>\n
But the Swans Chairman is refusing to panic at the run of results and told the Evening Post "I look throughout the Championship and the Premier League, and every side has come unstuck at some stage during the season <\/p>\n
"I am sure that like ourselves, Manchester United are wishing that some of their recent games had ended with better results.<\/p>\n
"But that is football. Teams have bad runs and, when yours comes, you just hope it doesn't go on too long or cause too much damage.<\/p>\n
"We all wanted to get new faces in — we knew full well that they were needed," he added.<\/p>\n
"At times throughout the season, every team needs new faces in the right positions, but the key is picking the right times to make sure the players are available and affordable.<\/p>\n
"Sometimes in football you need a list as long as your arm to make sure you get one or two players in and, eventually, we got Shefki Kuqi and David Edgar.<\/p>\n
"At our level of football, it's not as easy as people think to get players in.<\/p>\n
"We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we had more or less our full team out on Saturday," Jenkins pointed out.<\/p>\n
"I don't think there are any reasons (to explain the performance) apart from the fact that every side goes through a bad time.<\/p>\n
"But I look at the bigger picture, and I think we have to remember that we have come a long way as a football club over the last few years.<\/p>\n
"I am certainly not going to be looking for people to blame or looking for excuses.<\/p>\n
"Sometimes refereeing decisions don't go your way and sometimes you have injuries, but you just have to accept those things and take them on the chin.<\/p>\n
"I know that in my case, that sort of thing always makes me more determined and more committed to try harder next time. That's the attitude we all need.<\/p>\n
"We have two home games left and I think that as ever, they are going to be key," he said.<\/p>\n
"I thought we played well against Cardiff and Scunthorpe, and we have to get back to that against Barnsley this weekend.<\/p>\n
"We have to stay strong and stay focused, and make sure we stay together and give all our support to the manager.<\/p>\n
