A 0-0 draw on Sunday was not enough to lift Swansea City into the play offs and – having spent so much time in those positions – they must now watch the party from a distance with the winners taking away a £90m prize.<\/p>\n
But Swans and Wales defender Williams believes that the draw summed up a season that promised so much but ultimately delivered nothing other than a 7th place finish.<\/p>\n
He told the official website "It just summed up our season in one game – a clean sheet and not scoring at the other end<\/p>\n
"We had enough chances to win outright and that's been our problem all season. It was a disappointing way to end the campaign.<\/p>\n
"At the start of the season we would have taken it, but at the moment it's a hard thing to say because we had the chance and let it slip.<\/p>\n
"I'm sure a lot of the lads will look back in a month's time and say it was one of their best seasons," he added.<\/p>\n
"It was certainly the favourite season of my career so far. I achieved a lot of things personally and we'll all be able to look back on it, but it still hurts [missing out on the play-offs] at the moment."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
