The former Swansea City player stopped short of admitting that money talked but there was no doubt that it was a massive factor in him turning down a new deal at the Liberty Stadium and defecting north to the newly promoted side.<\/p>\n
He told the Evening Post "It is a massive move for me because Leeds are a big club with huge history and a lot of support<\/p>\n
"They are very ambitious and they want to get back to where they were not so long ago. It wasn't that long ago they were in the Champions League semi-final. The club will want to have a good attempt of getting into the Premier League, so it is going to be an interesting year, although it is a very difficult division.<\/p>\n
"But I have to say I am also disappointed that my time at Swansea is over. I have really enjoyed my time there.<\/p>\n
"It has been a huge learning process at Swansea and we went so close to getting into the play-offs.<\/p>\n
"It was very difficult for me to leave the club, but when Leeds came in I just couldn't turn the chance down.<\/p>\n
"At Swansea there is a great team spirit while Paulo is a good manager and I thank him for improving my game — he deserves a lot of credit<\/p>\n
"But I must say thank you to the fans. The first year was difficult for me but the fans were very good to me.<\/p>\n
"Last season was excellent for me because I played many games and also scored the winner against Derby.<\/p>\n
"But I remember at Sheffield Wednesday last season the fans were chanting 'Argentina, Argentina' during the warm-up and I'll never forget that.<\/p>\n
"I hope to get a good reception when I come back to Swansea next season. I'm sure the club will again be in a strong position to get a play-off spot.<\/p>\n
