The Swansea City midfielder put an end to the speculation that he was about to move on from the club by penning a two year deal.<\/p>\n
Orlandi signed from Alaves in the summer of 2007 and last season saw him make over 30 appearances as he was switched from a wide position to central midfield by then manager Paulo Sousa.<\/p>\n
There had been speculation that he would join up with Sousa at Leicester but the new contract kills that and Orlandi could feature in today's home friendly against Cheltenham.<\/p>\n
He told the official website "I'm glad it's finally over, there were a lot of things to focus on with Paulo going and the new manager coming in.<\/p>\n
"The chairman was keen for me to speak to him before anything was agreed. It was something I wanted to do as well because we may not have suited each other.<\/p>\n
"But I was lucky that he wants to play the game the same way – the Swansea way. It's a style that I think suits me – the mentality and the passing game.<\/p>\n
"I was very impressed with what he had to say and I can't wait to improve my fitness and start the new season properly.'<\/p>\n
"I've trained on my own in Swansea over the last three weeks,'' he added. "I've trained in the park and on the beach, wherever I can really.<\/p>\n
"It's not the same as training together with the rest of the lads though. My legs are aching a bit after the last two days, but I've enjoyed it.<\/p>\n
"I've liked what I've seen. In fact, all the lads have enjoyed training under the new gaffer and the way he speaks to us.<\/p>\n
