The Swansea City Chairman confirmed that the club had turned down an offer from Nottingham Forest for the midfielder and that the player's agent had requested an end to contract talks with the player ready to see out the end of his contract.<\/p>\n
In a statement released on the official website, the Chairman said "I can confirm that we recently received a written offer from Nottingham Forest for Darren Pratley<\/p>\n
"However, the offer is nowhere near the £1.5 million being reported and is not an up-front fee. <\/p>\n
"The offer is also nowhere near the level we feel is right for a player of Darren's ability at this point.<\/p>\n
"We have been in negotiations with Darren's agent and made an offer to match the hypothetical terms the agent somehow knows are on the table at Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n
"His agent has now stated that Darren does not want to talk about contracts or new deals any more and just wants to concentrate on his football.<\/p>\n
"From Swansea City's point of view, taking into account the value and type of offer on the table from Forest, plus what's on offer to us as a club over the next six months as we try to achieve a top-six finish, the club may feel it is in our best interests to keep Darren on board to see out his contract."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
