The Swansea City midfielder put in an impressive performance against Preston in the centre of midfield last week and that is a position he wants to retain as the Swans look to build on their Championship challenge.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the Evening Post, Gower said "I would like a run in the side in the middle and see where it takes me,<\/p>\n

"Since I came here I've been a wide player, but I'm into my 30s now and these little whippersnappers that are coming along, I can't keep up with them.<\/p>\n
"We've got Scotty (Sinclair), Nathan (Dyer), Cedric (van der Gun), Cotts (David Cotterill) and Tommy Butler.<\/p>\n
"That's five players in the wide positions that are more than capable of operating there.<\/p>\n
"It was nice to play in there. I think I complement Prats (Darren Pratley) quite well because he's got bags of energy and I like to get on the ball so it worked well.<\/p>\n
"I came here as a wide player, but I'm no stranger to playing in the middle, and obviously with Leon leaving in the summer we need someone to fill that gap — hopefully it can be me."<\/p>\n
Stephen Dobbie, Darren Pratley, Nathan Dyer and David Cotterill were on target against Preston as Swansea registered their first points under Brendan Rodgers.<\/p>\n
"It was pleasing. I got plenty of touches and I enjoyed it," added Gower<\/p>\n
"It was a good day, everyone performed really well, everyone did their job and worked hard and when the team's ticking over like that it's a joy to play in.<\/p>\n
"I'm just happy to play wherever. If the manager wants me to play out wide, I'm happy to do that.<\/p>\n
