The Swansea City defender was the subject of deadline day bids from both Leicester City – under former manager Paulo Sousa – and Celtic but both were turned down by Huw Jenkins leaving Ash happy to remain a Jack and concentrate on Wales internationals.<\/p>\n
Sousa's offer was reported to be in the range of £2m as he looks to strengthen his Leicester defence whilst Celtic were reportedly put off by the £4m valuation placed on the head of Williams.<\/p>\n
Having failed with a bid for Newcastle's Steven Taylor earlier in the day, Hoops boss Neil Lennon turned his attentions to Williams but took it no further having been told the value by Huw Jenkins.<\/p>\n
There was no deadline day action at Swansea with Brendan Rodgers now needing to wait until the loan window opens next week but there was no hope for a move now for Motherwell's Mark Reynolds<\/p>\n
