The Swansea City man was dismissed just 21 league\u00a0games into his Reading career with McAnuff also believing that Rodgers should have been given more time to turn things around.<\/p>\n
Rodgers has since described the job as the “right job at the wrong time” but McAnuff believes different \u201cManagers don\u2019t get the time they should,” he told the Western Mail<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s one of the pitfalls nowadays. But it\u2019s a results business and sometimes people make decisions. Fortunately for us it seemed to work out last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was unfortunate for Brendan, but it\u2019s part and parcel of the game and he\u2019s big enough to get on with it.<\/p>\n
\u201cSwansea have had a good start so I\u2019m pleased for him.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrendan\u2019s a top man and someone I always got on really well with during my spells at Watford and here.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a really good guy and I wish him nothing but success, apart from on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cTime is the key thing and it went to show just after Christmas and in January when things turned around.”<\/p>\n
McAnuff also knows what kind of game Reading can expect today from the Swans adding in \u201cIt will be a good game,\u201d he said. \u201cThey pass the ball around well and with Brendan there it adds a bit of extra spice.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe will be desperate to come and get a good result and it should be an entertaining game.”<\/p>\n
Scott Sinclair was also highlighted as the Swans main threat with\u00a0McAnuff adding \u201cHe\u2019s a very good player and has been on loan in the last couple of years<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is never easy, but he knows Brendan and seems comfortable playing for him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has done really well there and is someone we definitely have to look out for.\u201d<\/p>\n
