The Swansea City defender will set a club record on Sunday with his 107th successive league appearance for the club – the most ever achieved by an outfield player.<\/p>\n
And he is ready for the tough test that coming face to face with Bellamy will bring although he is warning the Swans not to place all their focus on the loan star.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am sure he is going to be extra lively in this one and that\u2019s just the way he is,\u201d Williams told the Western Mail.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe could be playing a cup game against a League Two side and he will still be exactly the same.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sure he will ruffle a few feathers this weekend and I\u2019ll be telling the boys to just ignore him.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe boys know about him already and I am sure we will be able to laugh about it afterwards when we meet back up for Wales.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the first time I will have played against him and I\u2019ve always said he is the best player I have ever played with. Probably a lot of players who have played with him would say the same.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to playing against him to see what it\u2019s like.<\/p>\n
\u201cI watched Cardiff against Leeds and he was unbelievable, he looked really sharp and at the top of his game.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I am put up against him I am sure my time playing with him will stand me in good stead or I can speak to whoever is marking him and that should help us.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be nice for the boys to play against a Premiership striker.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully we can close him out and it will be a feather in everyone\u2019s cap.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe won\u2019t be focusing on Bellamy too much because they\u2019ve got other people who can hurt you.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlayers want to play against the likes of Bellamy and Michael Chopra because they are Premiership players.<\/p>\n
\u201cCredit to them because they are raising the quality of the league.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a massive game, but in our camp we are looking at it like just another big game, the same as QPR a few weeks back.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sure if we win the game we will get seven seconds on the Football League show instead of five,\u201d says Williams with a wry smile.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always been the same since I came here, we don\u2019t moan about it any more we just get on with it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are quite happy to be under the radar because it gives us that surprise element.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully we will make the headlines on Sunday for the right reasons.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s probably the best form we\u2019ve been in going into a derby game and we want to keep that going as long as possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a nice feeling in the squad. We are very confident, but I don\u2019t think we are over-confident.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt over-confident before with teams, maybe here, but now we just go about our business quietly.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve shown we can go away and win, which was a problem at the start of the season, move onto the next game and get a win.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got a good squad and the manager\u2019s done really well, with the older players we have and the new players coming in we are looking quite strong.<\/p>\n
\u201cCardiff are a good attacking team, but you only have to look at our defensive record over the last few years.<\/p>\n
\u201cAgainst Cardiff we\u2019ve been quite happy with how we play, obviously we lost last year, but we tend to do well against the big teams and they are certainly one of the big teams.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are both up the top so it makes it a bit more important.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is what I like and it\u2019s what I play for, big games with big atmospheres.\u201d<\/p>\n
