When I was on loan, they’d have to travel three hours or so just to see me get five minutes.

“It’s great for everyone that we all know there’s 90 minutes for me at the weekend and I’m thriving on it.

“When you look at my statistics, I haven’t got a huge amount of games to my name – but I feel like I’m experienced at the same time

“I’ve had the benefit of being at a massive club like Chelsea, but moving around so much and being at so many clubs means I’ve been able to go out and experience things in a short space of time.

“I’ve been able to see the bigger picture a bit better than perhaps others might.

“Now I’m settled I can appreciate it more and in return people are seeing my qualities coming out more and more.

“You can’t show what you’ve got when you’re not playing every week and those opportunities have been limited for me.

“Now I’m at a club where it knows where it’s heading and what it wants to do, and because of that I know where I’m going and what I need to do to get there.

“It was down to the manager,” says Sinclair on the move. “He was the key.

“I didn’t know much about Swansea, about the place, what it would be like living in Wales. But I knew the manager. I trusted him.

“And I’m glad I did because I’ve come into a side with some top-class lads who want to play football which we’re showing to everyone in the league.

“Yes, the system suits me and I’m enjoying playing there, but the manager knowing me was the important thing. Having belief in me, that was huge.

“I’m having to come to terms with defenders doubling up on me and I’m having to work out how to adapt to that, to come up with different movements and game-plans so I can still get on the ball and run at defences,” he says.

“I’m still learning, but I love getting on the ball and looking to do something, to get past someone and create something. It’s why you play football.

“It’s all part of getting that experience of playing games now and it’s helping me develop.
