It’s not been an easy time for the Swansea City striker since moving to the club last year.<\/p>\n
A succession of injuries have frustrated him and kept him on the sidelines preventing him getting what he thinks he needs in a run in the team.<\/p>\n
But after starting on Sunday against Middlesbrough, Beattie hopes it is the first appearance of many.<\/p>\n
“That’s what everybody wants,” he told the Evening Post.<\/p>\n

“Football can be a fickle game, and particularly for me it hasn’t always happened that way.<\/p>\n
“But a run of games is the plan.<\/p>\n
“I am working ever so hard in training<\/p>\n
“I am doing prehab and rehab \u2014 I’m trying to keep my body in as good a condition as possible.<\/p>\n
“It’s been a long time since I started in the league,” he says.<\/p>\n
“It’s hard to explain how tough the last six months have been.<\/p>\n
“I’ve worked hard to come back (following the calf problem) and I’ve had to be patient.<\/p>\n
“It’s been very, very frustrating for me personally, but I got out there against Middlesbrough and put in a solid performance.<\/p>\n
“Hopefully I did enough to keep the jersey for this Saturday.<\/p>\n
“I’m not going to say I should be playing ahead of anybody \u2014 who am I to say something like that when I have not played since March?<\/p>\n
“I was flying in pre-season, but then I got injured and Dobbs has done fantastically well.<\/p>\n
“He has scored a few goals this season, and so I’m just working hard and taking each game as it comes.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
