The Swansea City goalkeeper says that one offer\u00a0has been made but his agent has made new suggestions that they await the club’s response on.<\/p>\n
With Dorus having a seemingly high stock at the moment due to some good performances, Brendan Rodgers has already said that a new contract may be the most important signing the club could make at the moment and that is something that Dorus seems keen to make happen.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s been some email traffic between my agent and the chairman and that\u2019s where it is at the moment,\u201d Dorus told the Western Mail<\/p>\n
\u201cMy agent gave the club a new proposal and it\u2019s up to the club to respond to that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve turned down one offer from the club because we had something else in mind and it\u2019s now down to the chairman to respond to that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI started negotiations because my initial thought was to get a deal done.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I didn\u2019t want to stay here I wouldn\u2019t even be negotiating.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve put something on the table which we think is reasonable and it\u2019s up to the club to decide whether it is up for it \u2013 yes or no. I want to stay for the long term \u2013 three or four years, I don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis contract is a big decision for me and my family. I\u2019ll talk to my wife whether we see our future here. You\u2019ve got to plans these things because you don\u2019t want to be unsettled for any reason.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you\u2019re a professional you\u2019re just focused on the next game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve experienced this in my last contracts when people ask about your situation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s happened a couple of times now, but I just stay real positive about it because I want to focus on the next game.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s big decisions to be made, but the important thing right now are the games.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed my time since I\u2019ve been here and I\u2019ve enjoyed working with the gaffer and my goalkeeping coach Adrian Tucker.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got ambitions to test myself at a higher level and let\u2019s hope we can get there with Swansea City and progress together like we have been doing the last couple of seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n
De vries was named man of the match against Millwall on Friday and De Vries added “I\u2019m not really too happy about it because it means I\u2019m too busy, especially at home<\/p>\n
\u201cBut, of course, I\u2019m happy to contribute and be there when called upon.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe good thing about it is that it helps us dig out results, but I\u2019d rather see a team-mate get man of the match because it probably means that we are on the winning side.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt seems to be the other way round at the moment, we are digging great results away from home and dropping points at home.<\/p>\n
