Reports before Christmas suggested that Van Der Gun had instructed his agent to find him a move away from Swansea but after his FA Cup appearance and goal at the weekend he still thinks he can make a difference to the promotion push – if he is given the chance to do so.<\/p>\n
He told the Western Mail \u201cWe have a very good team and I believe I can fit in pretty well when I play<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year I haven\u2019t played a lot of games but when I have, I\u2019ve felt good.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t been playing my best football yet, I know I can play better.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I am happy with my performances in the games I have played.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know I can do even better. You play your best football when you play regularly.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery player wants to play,\u201d added van der Gun.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m no different, I want to play every week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had the opportunity and I thought I played well, especially having not played much at all recently.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor every player it\u2019s difficult when you are not playing a lot.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have no idea at the moment [if I will leave].<\/p>\n
\u201cI will have to wait and see what happens.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor now, I am really happy to play a full 90 minutes, score a goal and now we will see from here.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had a few games now where I have not been involved in the squad, so it was important for me to get back in.<\/p>\n

Asked about the situation regards Van Der Gun, Brendan Rodgers told the same paper \u201cIt\u2019s been difficult for Cedric, there\u2019s no getting away from that,<\/p>\n
\u201cBut he\u2019s trained and worked exceptionally hard every day and his professionalism is very, very good.<\/p>\n
