The Swansea city defender was moved to left back to compensate for Neil Taylor's red card at Nottingham Forest but he insists that Taylor has had a great season and knows that he is not a malicious player.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Wales on Sunday, Tate said “He was very down afterwards, obviously, but this season is his first taste of league football. <\/p>\n
“Neil has played really well this season and it’s unfortunate his season’s ended like this.<\/p>\n
“It was harsh on him because he is not that sort of player.<\/p>\n
“He is not known for his tough tackling, he is more known for going forward and his energy.<\/p>\n
“As a defender these things happen and he will probably get sent off again.<\/p>\n
“It was a hard 90 minutes, of all the games I have played it was probably the proudest that I’ve been<\/p>\n
“You look for everyone when it goes down to 10 men.<\/p>\n
“Scott [Sinclair] is not known for his defensive work but I’ve got hold of him and kept him back and he’s done a great job for the team.<\/p>\n
“Nathan [Dyer] does a huge job for the team, probably better than any winger I’ve ever seen.<\/p>\n
“Fabio [Borini] set the tone up front and Nathan and Scotty followed.<\/p>\n
“When you see the way the lads worked for each other and the work we had to do it was excellent.<\/p>\n
“We could have sulked and moaned that we had gone down to 10 men but we didn’t.<\/p>\n
“It was a shock to start with but then we dug in and said we weren’t going to get beat.<\/p>\n
“It was a good effort from us but we are nowhere near done. It’s a pat on the back but now we move on to Monday."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
