And Rodgers said “Dorus was obviously a big part of my plans and I am surprised and disappointed that he’s gone<\/p>\n
“I was led to believe the negotiations were going well, but he has decided to go and be a No 2 goalkeeper in the Premier League rather than a No 1 goalkeeper in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
“I think we have seen already that we are going to a new level in the Premier League in terms of gossip and rumour,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We have been linked with all sorts of keepers, for instance, who are just not in my thinking.<\/p>\n
“There is a whole media circus which comes with being in the Premier League and it has been incredible reading about some of the players we are supposed to have made bids for.<\/p>\n
