The Cektic manager saw his side beaten 2-0 by Swansea City on Wednesday night at the Liberty and told the Western Mail after the game “It’s a tough league. They will have to have belief in themselves and if they can get that they will be OK. <\/p>\n
“It’s important to get that first win as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n
“We went up in 1996 at Leicester through the play-offs and a lot of us were lower league players, myself, Robbie Savage, Muzzy Izzet, Matt Elliot.<\/p>\n
“There is always that doubt in the back of your mind if you can cope.<\/p>\n
“But, once the games get under way, if they can get a positive result and realise they can compete at that level they should be OK.<\/p>\n
“They have got a really bright manager in Brendan and he has done a really good job here.<\/p>\n
“It’s very a exciting time for the club.<\/p>\n
“It was interesting for us to be able to try a different formation. Brendan is very tactical in his approach.<\/p>\n
“Swansea are very fluid in the way they move the ball around.<\/p>\n
“It was a good test for the way we wanted to try and play.<\/p>\n
“We went one up front, with two either side in midfield and I was pretty happy with how it went.<\/p>\n
“It was an adaptation of a European formation and something we have been wanting to work on all pre-season but haven’t had the opportunity to do.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
