Ashley Williams believes that Alan Tate has the strength in character to return from his broken leg<\/p>\n
Tate will be out of the game for six months after a freak accident on Sunday with a golf buggy saw him break his leg.<\/p>\n
Tate – who skippered the side in the opening game of the season at Manchester City – has played in all four divisions for the club having signed in the relegation battle season of 2002\/3 initially on loan from Manchester United.<\/p>\n
But Williams insists that Tate’s drive will see him return as he explained to the Western Mail “It is a big blow for the club, and more importantly, it’s a big blow for him personally. He has worked hard, like we all have, to reach the Premier League. It is a shame it has been taken away from him for at least a few months in that way.<\/p>\n
“He has the strength of character to come back from this. You wouldn’t like to see this happen to anyone, but if it had to happen to someone then it would be Tatey because I’m sure he will be back in no time.<\/p>\n
“I think the manager wanted to bring in defenders anyway before Tatey got injured. I suppose this means he has to.<\/p>\n
